Iñigo de la Serna
Vice-Chairman at TYPSA & Minister of Developments & Public Works of the Spanish Government
Iñigo held the position of Minister of Developments & Public Works of the Spanish Government between 2016 and 2018. Previously, since June 2007, he had been Mayor of Santander while holding for three years the Presidency of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and being founder and president for four years of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities.
He is currently Vice-Chairman of TYPSA and an Independent Advisor of Banco de Caminos. He is also the General Director of Madrid Green Urban Mobility Lab, a private association oriented to the development of mobility initiatives in the city of Madrid. He works as a professional consultant with companies and multilateral organisations in infrastructure, technology, sustainability and environment and mobility and urban management projects, among others.
His interests include Innovation, Smart Cities, Civil Engineering and Urban Development projects, with a special focus on the 2030 Agenda and policies linked to the SDGs.
Iñigo de la Serna holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cantabria as well as a degree in Business Administration and Management from the UNED and an Executive MBA from the EAE Business School. In 2018, he was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Carlos III.
