Fernando Romay (A Coruña, 1959) is a former Spanish basketball player, with a stature of 2,13m.

Always in a close and humorous tone, Romay will look back on his career while conveying the values that led him to success. He will talk about the pride of belonging, leadership, the value of being different, effort, and working as a team, among many other inspirational issues. Since he was a kid, his height set him apart, but he knew how to take advantage of it. In his speech, he encourages us to take profit from our virtues because we are all diverse and each one of us has value to show.

His sporting career is astonishing. He won the silver basketball medal with the Spanish national team in the Los Angeles 1984 Summer Olympics. He also played in the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympics, three World Cups, and four EuroBasket.

In Spain, he played for Real Madrid between 1976 and 1993. A golden era for the Spanish team, in which they won seven Spanish League titles (Liga ACB), five Spanish Cup titles (Copa del Rey), two European Cups, three Saporta Cups, the Korac Cup, two Intercontinental Cups, and the World Club Championship. After ending his spell at Real Madrid, he played one season for OAR Ferrol (1993-1994) and then for Amway Zaragoza (1994-1995).
